The 34th Midmar Mile took place earlier this month with Lyndsay “Marshy” Marshall taking on the Game Charity Challenge. The challenge requires that entrants swim all 8 races of the Midmar Mile (a total of 12,8 km) and raise a minimum amount of R10,000. All the proceeds are donated to various charities which include the learn-to-swim foundation amongst others.
Marshy successfully completed all 8 miles in an average time of 26 minutes per race. What a quicker! She also raised a staggering R22,000 which will hopefully be used wisely to increase water awareness and safety.
Well done Marshy, you are a cracka! What a great example of how one person can make a difference. Go you good thing!
